No, I have the top of the cable on the CD ROM, and the DVD Burner in the middle.That is how I had the CDROM burner, that was replaced by the DVD Burner hooked up as well. Installation: minor quibble. It comes on 3 disks. Gaddurnit, anyone who has a beast of a computer capable of running this game has a DVD drive. Everywhere I went, the UT2K4 No intro, though. Last night HP Update told me it had a recommended update and I let it install. When I came back to to the computer 5 minutes later it had frozen. have my HD on one (1), and a seral DVD drive on six (6). Works fine with the other SATA drives I use. I'm using MB chip set SATA controller. The info on the 500GB SATA drive says for standard use you dont need any jumpers, that being said I've tried jumpering the HD in various settings to no avail.

It is a Hi-Val 12x DVD drive and it has worked flawlessly... I have NO complaints about the drive. It is apparently totally PNP and does not need drivers. But I need drivers on the boot floppy so that the computer will see the drive and I can do the fresh install from the CD onto the clean (formatted) harddrive

The safest way however is to install NT while on IDE1 (your standard BX IDE port), install HPT366 driver, and move the HDD to IDE3. If it doesn't boot then it means you have hardware problems.
