rh 7.3 on DVD...how to prepare for install using cd-roms

sounds like your DVD drive creates a conflict. Maybe you can get some updated drivers from Cendyne. If you want to do a clean install you don't have to buy a new hard drive. If you copy what you've got on your hard drive now there is no point in doing a clean install. You'll just have to reinstall the software
